Prickly Pear Cactus Blossoms
Hand Watercolored | By Charles Beckendorf
Additional Information
The Prickly Pear Cactus Blossoms is an original print that has been hand watercolored. A print is considered an original print when the original drawing is done with the intent of making a print from that drawing rather than the drawing being used as an original work of art on it’s own. This particular image was printed in black & white, then hand watercolored by Charles’ son Ben.
Before his passing in 1996, Charles and Ben hand colored prints side-by-side since 1968. Ben meticulously hand watercolors each print individually with bright earthy colors making each print different and unique. This technique is rarely used today and adds more value to each piece.
This original print is limited to an edition size of 150. The image size is 22 X 37 and the print size is 26 X 40..
This is a part of the Texas Hill Country Art Prints and the Texas Still Life Art Prints Collection.

About the Artist - Charles Beckendorf
Charles grew up in Mathis, Texas, where he had the opportunity to spend hours on large ranches. Generous land owners gave him permission to wander freely over their ranches and he observed creatures in their natural surroundings. He developed a lifelong love of nature, whether it be in the tiniest of flowers or the largest of animals. It was at this time that he became a true naturalist.
